Can the screen be fixed? I suppose if it’s melted down to its base elements and recasted. I suggest just replacing the screen instead.

It can still be replaced. When you replace a phone screen on most modern phones the glass, digitizer, and LCD are laminated into one part so the “wonky” part will be replaced. It’s just a broken LCD.

Replace the screen. Either do it yourself if youre savvy. Or take it to the apple store and pay most likely over 300 bucks.
