Why would you let Uber deliver a $2000 order. UPS and FedEx only. Better yet go to store.

When I was trying to order my MacBook Air, I saw Uber was the delivery service and I immediately said ima get my ass in the car lol

For real, If you have the option of same day shipping. It means there’s an Apple Store close enough for you to drive to without it being an issue for most people.

No kidding, there are times where I can’t even order McD and actually get my meal delivered.

I ordered an iPad Air 5 last summer with same day delivery and it came via Uber. I wasn’t given a choice.
nater416 t1_j8zong1 wrote
Yes you did have a choice, you could have ordered it with slow delivery or driven down to the Apple store yourself.
QuantumFuzziness t1_j91p1qf wrote
Are you stating that Apple make it clear that same day delivery will be via Uber and slow delivery will be via an alternative method?. If not then the person above did indeed have no choice over delivery method.

Apple doesn’t make it immediately clear who they use for “courier” deliveries. They just offer a same day delivery courier option. When I hear courier, I think of the many local courier services we have in our city that are bonded and insured. Not that they’re going to farm out my $2000 laptop delivery to Uber Eats or DoorDash that I barely trust to bring me chicken tenders.

Yeah that’s kind of a moronic move. People get their $20 Uber eats stolen all the time. Now you’re gonna try with $2000 in apple products? I’m surprised apple even offers it as a delivery option. Uber drives are part time and seem to have minimal repercussions. FedEx drivers and stuff that like full time job they’re risking by stealing.
Edit: looks like it was ordered from Apple Store so I can see part of the justification but I would still lean towards this being an Uber or Uber/Apple split responsibility.
If I ordered an iPhone from Bestbuy and it never arrived after being marked delivered by FedEx or something, I guess I would report it to BestBuy and expect them to figure it out with FedEx.

When you order same day delivery there is no mention that it’s uber.

It's well known that Apple uses Uber for same-day delivery.

Well known by who? How would a consumer know this from looking at apple or Ubers website. How would a consumer know that there is no delivery protection?

Sorry I thought this was common knowledge and had been discussed on all the network subs for some time.
Muanh t1_j8vyzut wrote
Apparently it’s not mentioned. It’s called courier and they don’t specify it’s Uber eats. Not sure if that’s true.

Uber doing Apple same-day delivery is old news.
