Money
yeah thats the issue i have with the 13 mini rn
The se 2022 is 2 years newer than the 12 mini right?
yeah
What’s your cell carrier
Two years, but only one generation newer in terms of processor, etc.
I just upgraded from the iPhone 12 mini to the iPhone 14 Pro. Before the mini I had an iPhone SE 2020. Can’t go wrong with any of them, it’s personal preference. What cell carrier are you going to use?
UK here, have stuck with Three/iD for the time being. Wildly inconsistent coverage if we're talking nationally, but local to me they're good enough to justify their (very) low price.
Its really up to your preference if you like the home button or not. Personally id choose the 12 mini bc i like the no home button and oled screen, but i saw rumors that they are making a new model SE with a oled screen and some other features
Yeah for me its the opposite I dont mind the oled and i kinda like the home button So im still thinking about it
Preference call. I prefer the fingerprint reader. You might like the large screen more.
Of those the mini, no question.
I have the se and it’s a pretty good phone
I’ve had both and honestly liked the se more
SE, more years of updates
The iPhone SE 2022 has much better battery life than the 12 Mini and that’s saying something. Also, the 12 Mini battery life is barely any better than the 2020 iPhone SE.
The entire iPhone 12 lineup has awful battery.
Basically…in terms of battery life for these iPhones.
iPhone 13 Mini >> iPhone SE 2022 >>> iPhone 12 Mini > iPhone SE 2020
If you really want a modern small iPhone, get the iPhone 13 Mini. Avoid the iPhone 12 Mini at all costs. There’s a reason why Apple discontinued it too.
Otherwise get the iPhone SE 2022. It’s a fine iPhone with the updated hardware internals. The rear camera itself takes better photos than the iPhone 11 series and the 2020 SE.
Also the Touch ID sensor is even more improved on the 2022 SE over the 2020 SE and the iPhone 8.
It also has 5G support and you can turn it off if you want better battery life.
Another benefit of getting the 2022 iPhone SE is that all screen protectors and cases for the iPhone 7, 8 and 2020 SE will work fine. They all have the same dimensions too.
I personally do not recommend the iPhone 12 Mini. Garbage iPhone. I had it issued to me at work and immediately replaced it with the next year 13 Mini which was far superior in battery life. It literally lasted 2.5x longer than the 12 Mini.

why would you consider the 12 Mini when the 13 Mini exists?
12 series has shit thermals w/ mediocre A14 and the power hungry Qualcomm x55 modem, 13 series significantly improves on those shortfalls
