This comes up multiple times a week. It isn’t possible. Apple doesn’t allow apps to record telephone calls from the device itself.

Yes. Likely both, but really the latter.

If you have 2 devices, take the call on speaker and you record using the 2nd device, meeting legal requirements for your and your caller’s jurisdiction is up to you.

All call recorders on iOS offer a poor experience due to having to use three way calling. The person being called is always aware they are being recorded and there is a gap in the conversation while the third number connects. A third party stores the recordings and you need to subsequently download your recording. You are far better off buying a call recorder that plugs into the phone and using that. Personally if I need to record a call I put it on speaker and record with my Apple Watch and an app called Just Press Record

I think the Apple Watch has voice memos so you don’t even need to download an app

Just Press Record is literally that —one press to record

I don't intend to be rude but you would be better off with an Android and the fantastic All Calls Recorder. This app is like a filling system for voice recordings and completely automates the process

If you can conduct the call on Speakerphone and have an Apple Watch, use the Apple Watch to record the conversation using the Voice Memo application.

Don't think it can be done in software on iPhone so break out the lightning to 3.5mm adapter and connect it to Y splitter one leg goes to an old 3.5mm AirPods/headset with microphone and the other leg to a recorder. Possible yes, convenient nope.

iPhones don't "just works" like most like to claim.

The software limitations are a joke for something marketed as a premium device
