Hello all,

I was looking into getting one, but wanted to ask if there is a privacy cover you can get for the front camera? Do they exist? And if they do, would they affect the phone in any way in terms of usage?

Thank you.

Very unnecessary honestly, unless you’re gullible enough to give camera access to a calculator app then you won’t need it.

And even if you did the phone tells you when the camera is being used

See the green dot in the dynamic island? That means the camera is currently being used

Ah that’s nice, is it a new feature? I had an s22 ultra before getting the 14pm and i honestly don’t remember if it did or didn’t do that lol

Yeah this small green dot appears next to the battery so that is cool.

There are webcam covers but can I ask why you’d want to cover up that area of your phone? It may interfere with Face ID

Ah ok, I never considered face ID since I'm using an old Samsung note at the moment.

Why? Hmm, just sometimes feel uncomfortable thinking what if someone is watching, same reason I cover my laptop cam.

What you reckon? Safe without it for the iPhone?

Ultimately up to you.

If you feel uncomfortable thinking someone is watching you then you best stay off the internet altogether lol. I’ve seen people block out their cameras or turn off their microphone access on phones and computers. Meaningless in my opinion. Whatever you do can be tracked, recorded and logged. If you want further proof, don’t take it from me. Take it from one of the most famous people in the computer/ technology world

Yeah, I hear you. When I say watching me though I mean actually watching me through the camera, at least I'd get to physically block that, you know what I mean? I know they can track everything, but just feels nice blocking the cam physically.

I know it’s a concern but honestly I don’t believe agencies have the time or power to sit there watching literally billions of cams. Unless you’re some major government or political leader I highly doubt someone is going to watch you lol. But if it makes you feel better? Go for it. That all rests on how you feel.
