If there were a quicker and easier way to get around it, then what is the point in having it?

I know and fair enough, it was a mistake on my part. I was just wondering if there was any other way of helping this situation, verifying yourself perhaps in a store or through a gmail account etc, surely this can’t be that uncommon.

I mean, it is my device. I just made a stupid mistake in not anticipating the 2 Factor and should have waited before erasing the old phone. Just wanted some help very sorry.

Ah if you reset the device and never updated the phone number when you changed phone number, you will likely have to wait for that account recovery process to finish. Once you're back in there are other options you can enable to avoid this scenario going forward

Assuming your phones number is connected to your Apple ID you can have the code be sent as SMS during setup.
