I was recently in this same boat, and upgraded from an 8 Plus to a 12 Pro Max. The 12 series are still very capable phones, and I would recommend any of those over the 11 Pro.

Good to know. Because 11/12 Pro are the main ones I'm eyeing. 12 Pro series definitely looks a little more appealing.
