Do you use@gmail or @icloud or @outlook to your iCloud account

Hello friends, Which email provider do you use for your iCloud account. I personally use gmail because when I lose my iPhone X I couldn’t login because iCloud asked for an code that was sent to the email and without the iPhone I couldn’t get the code. So after that event I decided to use gmail. But maybe using @icloud.com have any advantage?

Maybe if you have another device like Apple Watch it can be a good option or maybe automatically forward all your incoming emails to another email.

I used to use a gmail account, but switched to a fastmail account. My wife uses an iCloud email account as her Apple ID as well but I know her password and we have a way to get the 2FA code sent in case of an emergency. (well, mostly she has an iPad as well, but I'm a trusted contact.)

iCloud. And loving it. The cost is baked into my AppleOne subscription and we have a custom domain. It’s been bulletproof since day one.
