I use my iPhone 7 still at work on WiFi only. Even calls forward over WiFi calling. If you don’t have consistent WiFi access at work it’s a no go, though.

Only thing I can’t do is text non-iMessage users.

you can enable sms chatting on other device in the settings on the main phone
