A little over a month ago I upgraded to an iPhone 14 pro from an old XS. For about the last month my eyes have been twitching and feeling strained. I’ve seen some reports of this for OLED screens, but the XS was OLED too and never bothered me.

Has anybody had similar issues or know of any reports with the iPhone 14?

No, that’s interesting. Maybe you need a pair of cheater glasses. Like from the pharmacy. But if you work on a pc most of the day then use a small device or tablet. They say that can affect your eyes. What do you have the display set too? True Tone turned on or off? And is night mode turned on or off?

True Tone on, Night shift on at night, brightness varies. I’m trying night shift on all day today to see if that does anything. I really don’t know. The phone seems like the only change.

Also maybe turn off the 120hz and promotion display. Maybe your eyes aren’t used to that faster refresh rate.

Maybe try turning both off. And dimming the screen. Just to see.

Under accessibility - Motion - reduce motion off, scroll down and turn off limit frame rate.

Might want to try to mitigate oled PWM

Edit: Reports have been that the higher flickering frequency in iPhone 14 pro made it better for those affected though

Why are people downvoting this? I had this when I first got the 13 Pro Max. Noticed a few days ago I don’t have the issue now unless I use my 14PM a lot with no rest. I feel like it could be the refresh rate plus screen time. So I’m thinking when I got the 14 Pro Max my eyes had adjusted to the ProMotion.

It’s the peak brightness. I changed to the 14PM too from an XS and the auto brightness on the 14PM is pretty aggressive. It’s usually higher than I need it to be. Just make sure the brightness is lower so your more comfortable

Maybe it helps not spending too much time watching your screen.
