Sounds like you need to contact Verizon. Probably a SIM card issue.

14 pro models have esim but today we’re gonna try to have them reset her esim

Right sorry, reset her esim card. Regardless the suggestion stands. It’s a Verizon problem probably not an iPhone problem. It’s an issue with the phone number that 2FA is sending the messages to. Hope it goes well!
