Hey everyone. So my iPhone 6s, whenever I plug in cheaply made, non Apple earphones, the moment I plug them in, the phone goes crazy. Voice control will start activating(have it disabled by default), music will start playing by itself, apps will close and open, random texting will start if my Keyboard is on and lots of stuff like the phone got possessed. Why is this and how can it be solved?

Poorly made headphones, stop buying cheap headphones. It’s probably a messed up wire or something

Maybe you will learn to spend $20 on apple EarPods once for life, instead of continuing to buy $3 or $5 headphones over and over until you realize how foolish you are being.

That sounds pretty poltergeisty.

Are you acquiring your earphones from graves, e.g.?

No, just from phone stores(small businesses) who don’t give an eff about apple’s copyright laws and anti third party repair tactics. Whose stock comes from the depths of China, made in thousands daily

Use a normal stereo earphones. The buttons and microphone is shitty in aftermarket headsets cashing sort of problems like this.

Something seems to be shorting out. The 6S is an old device and after years of pulling it in and out of your pocket, it’s likely collected some gunk in the port.
Make sure the port is clean. This isn’t super easy but some compressed air shots can loosen stuff up. If you get in there with a toothpick or something, be very careful, once something breaks, it’s done.
once clean, as others have mentioned, use quality earbuds. Plenty of companies still sell the 3.5mm plug style earbuds.
