No one really knows the answer to that. We’ll have to wait until some actual announcements start to be released about devices that support it or are being updated, if any, to support it.

Could take months. Could never happen on your existing devices.

You will have to ask Nest/Google. They have to add support to the devices. Either through a firmware update, if possible, or convincing you to buy new devices with Matter included.

Look up the Starling Home Hub. I recently got one and now I can control all of my Nest devices (thermostats, cameras, doorbell, etc) in the Home App. It's a 1 time setup and super easy to do. So far it's been amazing.
