This might be down to the case you're using retaining more heat than the phone by itself does .

I’ve had this happen with an iPhone 12,13 and now 14. Pretty certain this is ‘normal’, just not ideal.

It's not supposed to overheat to the point of flash a warning notification . Qi charging is supposed to produce some heat but not to this level

I used an open box Mag Safe, with an Ultranet 30W adapter on my 13 PM. Oddly enough, you can barely feel any warmth at all, and this is with a cheap $8 case from Amazon.
