Right.. totally agree with you. I wonder if this bigger phone thing didn't start with Samsung as an obvious counter to the original iPhone (and everyone's reasonable assumption that bigger is always better). Of course also helps sell cases.

Surprised by how defensive others are getting about this, lol.

I figure that this all started with the launch of the original Samsung Galaxy Note. It had a 5.3 inch screen, which was considered massive.

Yea, a good observation. It was an easy way to immediately differentiate and pull over some business. Can understand the tactic.
