I rate they wouldn’t have invested so much into the cutout for one year so likely should be around for another 3 years maybe… It’s my understanding that the Dynamic Island works via “Live Activities” so if developers support Live Activities then the Dynamic Island should be fine long-term as a software feature.

I rate 3D Touch just didn’t quite have a means for users to easily discover the feature, it went unnoticed by most (I LOVED it) so idk if it was worth the time to develop a feature around it in an app only for users never to use it.
