Did you actually read their privacy policy? They will hold on to your email only temporarily when you use “send later” feature - for obvious reasons.

Never heard of email client using own servers to hold users emails, it doesn’t make sense, server space is not free and they already have access to all your emails.

You could use a provider that stores your emails encrypted. But when the app requests the emails using IMAP, they're coming unencrypted, otherwise the email app wouldn't be able to read it and show it to you.

If the email app gets them unencrypted... it was all for nothing. So how does it solve the problem mentioned?
