Just recently got my iPhone 14 Pro Max 256g Deep Purple and loving it. The always on display is crazy bright and it’s really cool, and I don’t charge the phone through the night because the battery is so great and I have portable charges I take with me for other stuff like ear buds that I use.

I’ve been turning on low power mode at night so the display isn’t on for 8 hours (also rather bright in a dark room) does it make a difference? Or lengthen the life of the battery? It’s easier to just hit low power mode than turn “always on” off in settings as well.

AOD turn itself off on its own if the phone hasn’t been touched in awhile to save battery; if you use sleep focus mode it turns off with that by default.

It should also turn the "always on display" off automatically if you place it face down.

just thouight I'd throw that out there.. ツ

Oh that’s good to know as I thought AOD would be on all night. And wasn’t aware sleep focus turned it off like low power mode, makes sense so the display isn’t distracting when you try and sleep.

I’m currently using sleep focus, set to 10:30pm to 5:30am…. Although I really rather not use a focus tbh…. I really hope Apple adds an on-off schedule option for AOD soon.

Also just place it face down anytime to shut display off
