I just got the 14 pro last night. I upgraded from the 11 pro (which I loved). I’m finding the 14 pro really heavy and uncomfortable to use. I was using it for about an hour today on my couch and both my hands went numb and all my fingers tingled. I have an otter box symmetry case on it, but it’s not rounding out the edges the way I would like. This phone just feels too long to me, and too heavy, and it has too sharp of edges. Do you think it will get better over time (will I adjust)? Or is there a different iPhone I should try? Should I just go back to my 11 pro? I take tons of photos so the cameras are important to me. But I don’t know if I can deal with the ergonomics of this 14 pro. Advice? Help!

Put a pop socket on it.

The hight of the 14 pro over the 11 pro is only .14 taller and .70 grams heavier.

I’ve never used one before. Do I install it directly in the middle of the phone? Or where is the best spot for ergonomics?

Pretty much in the middle, yes. If you got a case that had MagSafe, there’s a MagSafe pop socket you can get. You can just pop it on or off whenever you want to use it.

My hands are getting a bit more used to this tank, I went from a IPhone 11 to a 14 Pro MAX. It isn’t that much wider but it is taller and your right about the squared edges, like tte older phones. I’m just using a leather MagCase & no screen protector. I haven’t used those since I got my iPhone 7.

Il tell you, 1 ounce is noticeable.

The 14 pro is literally heavier than other iPhones. I commented about hand fatigue in another post. Allot of people agree. Hard to say if you will adjust it not. I don’t have a plus but it’s heavier than my girls 13. And my cousins 13 pro max.

14 Pro is only 10 grams heavier than my XR. I don’t know why you think it’s heavier than a 13 Pro Max. The 13PM is 240g. The 14P is lighter at 206g.

The flat sides do make the 12-14 models less comfortable to hold than the 6-11 models.

That’s you. I’m not arguing what I feel with you. It’s heavier. If you don’t agree ok! Wtf?!?

I’m in the same boat and definitely recommend getting a pop socket. I used one on my last phone too (little hands). I ordered the magnetic socket but didn’t realize my new case doesn’t have a magnet in it so now I’m looking for a case that does. Make sure you get a case with a magnet not just one that says MagSafe compatible. I thought the same about the weight but that resolved itself and doesn’t bother me at all anymore.

Same boat as you from 11pro to 14pro. I’m getting used to the weight. I have a atom studio case which is much lighter than yours.

It’s wild… have a 14 Pro Max and it doesn’t feel heavy to me personally. Came from a 12 Pro and I actually wish the size was a bit bigger. But I do get that these are hefty phones for most.

I was pleasantly surprised after switching from 13 mini to 14 pro max that it’s a comfy weight and still OK to hold in one hand when I want to.

Wow, how small are your hands? I have small hands, and I don’t notice much difference in size or weight between the 14 pro and my old XS. The most noticeable difference is the larger camera bump.

Seriously wondering how unhealthy you are to be unable to hold 200g

It’s called carpal tunnel and De Quervain’s tendonitis. You don’t have any health problems yourself?
