Looks like this isn’t the year to upgrade. I just placed and then canceled my 14 pro order because it had ridiculously long order time. Over a month for the expected delivery. When I chatted with someone at apple about it I got the distinct impression I was talking to a bot that was insisting it was a human. Maybe I’ll upgrade after the holidays if apple gets their supply chain sorted out.

Supply chain sorted out? Oh it’s more than that my friend.

Considering what’s going on in China generally and Foxconn plants specifically. Wait times are likely to get longer.

So every time a new phone comes out, there is always a long wait to get it for the first while.

Especially iPhones. And especially this year with that COVID thing going on and hitting Chinese factories. This is worse than usual but not new for iPhones. They are in high demand especially the Pro models.

I pre ordered and got mine day one. Had zero issues. Now it’s bad because of lockdowns and protests.

There’s always gonna be an amount of stock available on day one.. how quickly that gets replenished is another story.

If you wanted one sooner the latest you should have ordered would have been October, I always warn family and friends that once November hits it can get crazy and this year is no exception. In the last month things have just gotten crazy between high demand and the issues with COVID related lockdowns and protests causing delays in manufacturing. But as usual with every year expect to see availability prop up in February and by March you should be able to walk into most stores and get the model you want.

Where do you live? What carrier do you have? Do you qualify for an upgrade?

My girlfriend and I got brand new 14 Pros when trading in our 11’s with T-Mobile a month ago. They had them in stock.

Also it seems like quite a few people were walking out of Best Buy on Black Friday with iPhones. I don’t know if they were signing up for service or just buying a new phone though.

Those are complicated questions to answer. Usually I live in Ecuador, though I’m currently living in Poland. I had ordered the 14 Pro to ship to my mom’s house in the US and had arranged to have her send it to a FPO (US military base in Poland) because if I buy the same model in Poland it costs over $500 more and if I can find one in Ecuador it will cost nearly double. I change carriers often and always go prepaid because I travel a lot. Yes, it doesn’t seem to be as much of a problem to buy the 14 Pro if you are tying it to one of the big US carriers. I only buy unlocked.

If you live near a store it’s not that hard to get. I’ve gotten a lot of pros for family and friends and just picked up a silver 256 pro yesterday. It just requires you to be diligent and check the website a lot throughout the day. Particularly on weekdays when they get shipments. Keep in mind though that they sometimes only get a dozen units maybe and it can sell fast.

I’m in Poland. Trying to ship the phone to my mom’s place in the US. I’m definitely out of luck.

Hm… if your mom lives near an Apple Store maybe you could change the region on the website to check for store stock in her area. Then purchase it and set her as the pick up person. Although no idea if this would work. I’ve been able to do this for other countries but I’ve never actually bought it. Plus I’m not sure if your credit card would charge you a conversion fee.

Yeah, I checked availability and came up with nothing in the 9 closest stores. I guess I’ll just keep checking.

Idk about other stores in the country but the stores around my usually check in their stock at around the hours between 1pm-3pm

I just have the page with the model I’m looking for open and refresh it every 10-15 minutes while I’m working

I order mine through my phone provider (T-Mobile). I got it two days later. That was almost a month ago. Try your provider if you don't want to wait that long or can perhaps reduce your wait

I ordered mine early November and it said it won’t deliver until dec. 9. But it showed up a couple weeks ago so maybe expect yours a bit earlier?

Check every single day to see if there is any stock in the apple stores near you. The one I wanted (14 pro gold 512GB) thankfully shows up at a store 15 miles away from me. Took 2 hours to get there but id rather do that than wait the atrocious order times. This was in the beginning of October btw

Fortunate are those who order the iPhone 24 pro max during launch time and early who do not need to experience this including myself.😎And suck to be those who ordered late and have to wait a looong time.

So you’re saying I should order an iPhone 24 Pro Max now if I want to get one before the iPhone 25 is released? I’m assuming the 24 was a typo but it kinda works…

Just wait until the iPhone 15 is released. If it goes USB-C and make a design change then it will be in even higher demand than the 14 Pros.
