When my sister decided to buy me my first smartphone, I was already in my fifties. She did some research, and was told that the iPhone was the easiest for baby boomers like myself to learn and use. So that’s what she got me, and the research was right. I’m now on my third iPhone, and I have no trouble with it. In fact, every member of my family has an iPhone, and I like being able to easily share data between devices. She also got me a cheap Verizon brand tablet at the same time, and even though I’ve since upgraded to a slightly better Samsung tablet, I still have trouble figuring out that damned thing.

It was 2008. The first phone running Android might not even have been available yet.
