You make an appointment at the local store, go there and they assess your device to see what they need to replace and make sure your software and hardware is genuine, if everything is good there you leave it with them and they give you a ticket with a return time. You pay the fee and take your repaired device. Usually only takes an hour or so. Same day service anyway.

It’ll cost some serious dough tho if you don’t have the insurance. This is for back glass damage with and without insurance

But you should really always have apple care insurance. It’s worth it and it will pay off eventually. You never know what life will bring you. Ive used it for cracked screens twice , stolen once , water damage from flipping a jet ski, and green line of death once from some random knocking it off a table.

I did realise how important it is just after I saw the crack. This time I got to get away and I’m grateful for that. The conversation would be great if there were more details shared but I guess that’s it.
