Sounds like you have the wrong case.

The commuter case wraps over the sides and has a raised lip around the screen for drop protection.

If you are seeing the sides then it is probably a case for a different iPhone

I do have the correct case it actually fits very good, it just seems loose on the sides

I have the Otterbox commuter and it is not loose anywhere.

It fits perfectly around the phone except by the power button, I can literally see the border of my phone color. I wanted to know if it is normal or not.

That’s not ideal, it’s 2022 and cases are designed with laser precision up to the smallest dimensions. It’s a faulty case and should be replaced.
