So I sent in my iPhone to iStore to get a battery replacement. At the iStore they phone me back later stating the entire glass & OLED split.

Apple said it’s not their fault and I’d have to fork out the cash for a new display because of this.

Technician said it’s a reoccurring thing. And this from Apple themselves.

EDIT: So a lot of people are saying iStore is the problem. I took it to the only Apple store that there is

iStore doesn’t exist in this country. It wasn’t a 3rd Party repair shop nor is it a reseller. It’s Apple.

It’s the only time I’ve had issues with them. They’ve replaced my MacBook when the USB ports stopped working - this was the first time something like this has happened with them

iStore is not Apple, it's a third party retailer / repair outfit.

You need to take it up with them as looks like they messed up your phone.

Istore isn’t an Apple Store, they’re just authorised resellers

Yeah I meant Apple. We just all call it iStore in my country - it’s a bit of slang

Are you sure? Because iStores exist and a lot of people confuse them with Apple Stores

Yup. I went the the actual Apples Store. I don’t deal with 3rd Party shops regarding repairs etc.

I had my daughter’s iPhone 7 battery replaced and when I came back they said the front glass cracked while opening it so they put on a new one at no charge. They said it is very common when replacing batteries.

Email Tim Cook. This will get you in touch with customer relations. This is the highest up you can get at apple. Be nice and just describe your issue and don’t act entitled. Leave your phone number in the email

Someone will call you at some point and I have no doubt they will take care of you.

Apple store is responsible for the repair of the screen since the screen was in good condition.

Was there any damage to the display before you left it? If not, I would definitely escalate that because if it was damaged by them during the repair, they should be fixing it.

Zero damgae (Forgot to Add)

They say it’s a common thing where the device that heats the phone and pulls the screen apart causes It.

I took it up with Apple and they just said sorry. Not their problem.

Well if it wasn’t damaged before then they 100% need to fix it. Did you talk to a manager?

Did they take a pic of the phone BEFORE the repair?? If at a actual APPLE store they usually do for this exact reason .. I would escalate this issue
