I am on my fourth pair. I bought them a month before the new pros came out :/ hehe
So they were 1st and 2nd gen AirPods and two pair of 1st gen AirPods Pro.
My wife has only been through two pair in that time and she mostly upgraded from 1st gen AirPods to get the pro features. She still uses hers 5+ hours a day but doesn’t fall asleep in them or accidentally get into the shower with them every few months.

Oh for sure on the Apple Care. I for sure have had to send in both Pros (the latest within a month of buying them) for static popping sounds. I think I sent in one of my first pairs too but I don’t fully remember.

Religious user of my AirPods here, typically putting about 30-35 hours of use a week on them.
I’m based in the UK I got the pair I bought replaced in 2019 under the repair programme and since then I’ve had them replaced every 6-8 months under consumer law
I ride a motorcycle for my job, my AirPods are in my ears while I’m riding, not sure if it’s the sweat or the pressure but they always end up shitting themselves after the 6-8 month mark. I get bad audio and bad transparency mode and take them to apple.
It’s funny every time I go they try to charge me, I remind them of consumer law and that AirPods are known to have audio issues and boom another free replacement, got them replaced last week

Just hit the 3-year mark on my 2nd gen AirPods and they're doing fine! They're obviously a little scuffed and don't look brand new but idrc about how they look as long as they work.
The only downside to them being older is that the battery life isn't quite as good as when they were new but they've never died on me before so I'll keep on using them.

Unfortunately I have to let this one out

But Apple AirPods have a life span of 2-3 years , after that they will start disconnecting and malfunctioning because of battery issues and they cannot be replaced!! So before purchasing another one just make sure you understand your investment. Money for experience not money for hardware!! :)

This is why you get AppleCare and replace them right before the 2 years is up.

At about the two year mark mine start to have battery or sound issues. They are still usable so I give them to family but I am a heavy user (often 16+ hours a day) so for me they become annoying.
