Hi all,
I wanted to see how those who have a work phone and a personal phone manage the way they use it. I am in the IT industry and at my last orgaization we were small enough where I had my hands on all the system. Since it is government, eSims were not available so I put the physical sim (work) in my personal phone and setup an eSim with my personal line.
Today, with my new company that has a larger structure that leaves me out of the loop from the systems I don't manage, gave me an iPhone with AIrWatch MDM on it. I don't use any of the provided apps as they don't pertain to me and I have the calls automatically foerward to my personal phone. Obviosuly the downside to this is that when I respond it is my personal number and I also don't recieve texts. Surprisingly they allow us to run Teams/Outlook on the non-MDM devices. This gives me two options. I can plan to ask for forgiveness instead of permission and just swap the physical sim to my personal, and operate like I used to or is there any other way? I thought with the iPhones I can login with my other apple ID for the send/recieve this way I get texts to both.
I am looking for the easiest option for me to fly under the radar with the minimal amount of data being pulled from my device. I strictly want it for the use of the number and nothing else (my personal line is Unlimited data)

I’m in exactly the same position and have gone with keeping my work and personal phone separate. Having work stuff on your personal phone leaves you open to error and it’s more difficult to switch off, even with focus modes. When I’ve had similar situations I’ve took the risk and just used the phone of choice (as I have a spare phone that tends to be a better spec and I prefer to use iOS for the automation) and have never been pulled up but, if your company are on top of their security accreditations then they might be checking for unauthorised devices. It’s sometimes reassuring to see if anyone else has been getting away with it.
