no, I expect it to loose wide App support in about a year

I’d limp it along with a battery bank for a while and save for something like an SE.

The 2020 models already go for ~£100 on eBay, the 2022 model will probably quickly follow suit.

It really depends on your specific situation, if you can financially afford something better most people here will recommend you upgrade

However if that is not an option then the new battery will be a big boost to your quality of life with your device

Hi! I’m a fellow iPhone 7 user. The battery is usually meant to be replaced several times over the course of the phones lifetime, has it been replaced before? Is the battery the only component that needs to be replaced? For me, the rest of the hardware works perfectly fine and I don’t care too much about discontinuation of apple support. If this is your first time replacing your battery I would think it’s worth it, however if you want to get a new phone you should definitely get an SE, as they are the same size and weight

It's the original battery, since i bought it.

All the rest of components seems to be OK.

I don't want a new phone while the atual still gets updates for my usual apps.

You can downvote me a lot, but i'm not the only poor iphone user who don't spend personal wages regularly to feed planned obsolescence and consumerism.

Planned obsolescence comment is on point. I’m also sticking with my phone until the rest of its hardware actually breaks. It keeps up with anything not absurdly processing intensive, so I see no reason to replace it lol Hopefully with a bit of luck your phone will last a couple more years, by then an upgrade to an SE or something won’t be too expensive anymore

My 7 works fine, more than any budget Android. If it works, why change? That’s my point of view.

I dont know if the other components will last. Maybe i am lucky maybe im not.

I opened this thread to help me and take a decision. Probably i will delay again and hold the 7 until it dies another component.

Thank you for your help
