I got an iPhone a few months ago, but can’t read books normally now. From what I’m understanding is that iPhone supports what you already have on kindle but nothing new. I just can’t figure out how to continue reading new books with an iphone. I was used to purchasing thru kindle and the format of the Apple Books software isn’t easy. Hard to search what I’m looking for … I feel like it’s just because I’m not used to using it, but then I also feel like I’m getting low rated content from the book search. I wish Kindle was compatible to purchase new books and the same as it was. I AM TRYING to adjust to a change but this is making me want to just give up and find another way to get them digitally. Where I live the one library in a rural town wants a utility bill along with ID to borrow books and guess what, I live with my dad and while I help pay the utilities they are not billed in my name. My li early and algorithms are lost from Kindle and I just am not familiar with iPhone apps for reading. I want to read new books. I can still access my library on kindle.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I feel so confused with switching to iPhone from android. TYSM!

You can buy new Kindle books. Just not in the Kindle App. Open Amazon in Safari and purchase away.

You can use any browser. Login to your Amazon account, and go to Kindle e-books on the menu

The biggest change that’s been made is you can no longer purchase from the Kindle app on iOS or Android. This is because Apple and Google charge a 30% fee through the app. What you need to do is log into Amazon on a web browser and purchase from there. It will almost immediately download to your phone.

Thank you for explaining. It makes more sense to understand behind the scenes .

Also, you can't even buy kindle books from the Amazon app. It has to be from the web browser. With the app, Apple considers it an "in-app purchase" and would still charge the 30%.
