Hi, I have the 13 model, and the software version is 16. I haven’t updated to 16.2 as I’ve been reading some problems in that and kinda scared. Should I wait till they release a new version with the bugs fixed or should I update now? A noob to the iOS, so please advise

My general rule is to always stay updated as long as you have a backup (either iCloud or computer). Reason being that updates have a small chance of bricking your phone, requiring you to erase it and set it up again.

Updates help keep your phone as secure as possible.

Thanks for replying. I’m seeing only 16.2 as the update, so asked. Should I wait?

Pretty much every release will have bug fixes and sometimes they introduce some new bug. That's just how software is nowadays.

Absolutely. But, since I’m an iOS noob and any issues pop up post updating, it’ll be difficult to understand and sort

If you find a bug, you won't be sorting it out, the next update will be, the same as if you were on Android.

I wouldn't worry about it too much as iOS 16 is quite mature so the point releases are pretty minor.

Oh okay. So, I can update to 16.2?

Yes, and just like anything else, you'll only generally find people complaining about issues online, rather than the vast majority who are happy with it and don't feel the need to post how it's all working well.

Hey thanks for this, I’ll go ahead and update tonight.

Btw, do you have any tips or links about battery saving?
