That is what it does for cars without touchscreens. You probably have a knob that is used for switching radio channels (not the volume knob). If you bump it, it will highlight selections blue as you spin it. Kind of like using the tab key instead of a mouse.

Controls on steering wheel? Regardless of your car’s hardware, that is what the blue highlighting is for in CarPay’s OS.
