I just switched from the 11 pro max to the 14 pro max. I got the silver color a The phone feels amazing in the hand and the cameras seem bigger then the 11 pro max. What's everyone's thoughts on the 14 pro max? Do you use a case or screen protector or go bare? If you go bare how has the phone held up?

It’s enormous, completely useless for one-handed use and makes my knuckles hurt after using it for a while.

I use a black Apple silicon case on it, though I take it off frequently since I don’t like how much it increases the phone’s size.

How are the apple cases? I’m thinking of getting the apple clear case for my 14 pro max.

Apple cases are great! B Until Apple stopped making a leather folio that was my go to case. Their leather and silicone ones have a nice feel to them. The leather ones can be a bit slippery. The one downside with clear cases is they tend to yellow with time. It’s for that reason alone that I’d go with a less expensive one.

Can’t comment on other cases but their silicone case feels very good quality. It’s grippy and the raised buttons feel good to press. I just wish the volume switch opening was a bit larger since with it on I basically have to use my fingernail to toggle it on/off.

I'm interested in what is so popular about clear phone cases recently? I've never tried one but i've been looking at them for awhile now and they still don't attract me.

For me personally I like being able to see my silver iPhone color through a case. But the issue I see slot of clear cases have is they yellow over time.

Completely useless for you perhaps, but not for everyone. With or without a case my 14 Pro Max is far too large for one-handed use so I don’t care.

With a case I actually find it better for one handed use because I can use the camera bumper lip as a grip to shuffle the phone around in my hand.

I’m kind of skinny for my height so you’re probably right.

Love mine. I use an Otterbox case and screen protector because I like to use it in the wilderness (GPS & maps). Best phone I've ever owned (new camera capabilities are great).

I came from the 12 pro max. Now with a black 14 pro max. I really like it. But my next phone will be the regular pro. Is heavier that my other phone a pixel 7 (which is almost a perfect phone). But I always like big phones. I don't like the color black on phones because they are everywhere. I just apply a dbrand skin and use it with a Mkeke case and a privacy screen protector.

I don't use a screen protector, but I do use a case. It's not so much for protection as it is a place to store all the stuff I'd normally put in a proper wallet.

I’ve heard the phone screen scratched easily without a screen protector. How has your screen held up with scratches? Is there any noticeable ones? Does it scratch easily.

The link I provided is for the Folio Case I use. It covers the screen so it's never gotten a scratch on it.

Hey that is exactly the same I got! Kinda pricey, but the only leather folio case I could find that was magsafe compatible. Looks nice too. Only small downside is that the included magnetic clasp can’t close at same time as the magsafe charger.

I've never used one, but it does seem annoying.

My biggest issue is it sticks to the my metal utensils and my monitor stand. 🤣

I've never tried a combo like that but is there any kind of "lose one, lose both" kind of worry/concern about combining phone and wallet?

I’ve only had my credit card slip out once and that was at home so no biggie. Since then I’ve moved that card and my driver license down a row and haven’t had any more slippage issues.

A lot of people are getting separate protectors just for the camera lenses. Ever check those out?

CatFlier t1_j4yz6xs wrote

I’ve seen people talk about them too, but the case has just enough of a lip around it that the camera lenses don’t come into contact with whatever I put the phone down on.

I use 14 pro max and S22 Ultra. Had to use hard case and screen protector for both phones as I’m clumsy af. Personally I think S22 Ultra is better in term of camera and functionality.
