Some facts about me and my phone usage:

  • I am coming from Android (Samsung Galaxy S8).
  • I am not a heavy user/gamer.
  • I just watch YouTube videos, browse Reddit heavily, Facebook, Instagram, Slack, Notion and I believe that's pretty much it.
  • I want a phone that lasts a very long time. (I take good care of my phones).
  • I am not much of a camera guy, but I want our family photos to look decent.
  • I would be happy with a 90+Hz refresh rate.
  • Battery life is not that big of a deal, I work from home, I can charge the phone whenever I want, and when I travel I always take a power bank with me already.
  • I am from a middle eastern country, where iPhones are expensive, a new iPhone 14 Pro Max will start out at $1400.
  • I can't order from online stores, since there is no delivery to my country, I have to stick to what's available locally.
  • My max phone budget is $750 which rules out most phones. But if there's a really compelling reason I might bump it up.

Personally if you can get direct from apple I would, can cost more but you know it will genuinely be refurbished and like new.

Trick is finding what you want but stock changes often: https://www.apple.com/shop/refurbished

We have gotten phones and laptops this way, like new but less cost

There are no official Apple Stores in my country, there are official distributors though, but they don't have any refurbished phones.

Ordering directly from Apple is not possible since they can't ship here, so, I have to use a shipment forwarding services, that will introduce a couple of new fees along with the customs that I have to pay once it arrives, so it will be more money, more hassle, more time. Does it really worth it?

Hmm that’s a hard question. I’ve had some issues with Amazon before cause it depends on the vendor

Not really. A 12 Pro or Pro Mac is probably your best bet right now!
