Do you have AppleCare
chrisnan109 OP t1_j6mlu05 wrote
Nope. Bought this on eBay. So I can’t get apple care. Wish I could cus then it would just be $29 to repair but without its $499

Oh no I’m so sorry! That’s expensive 😢 what will you do?
chrisnan109 OP t1_j6mm36f wrote
I don’t know I only paid $599 for the phone so…

This sounds like it is fake? Way too cheap for a phone thst a couple of weeks ago was out of stock
chrisnan109 OP t1_j6mq12q wrote
Hmm let’s see here considering so many of the cell phone providers give it to you for $599 $699 $799 or gasp even free and also when a company buys it off you the only pay $50-$200 for it could it be that maybe just maybe it’s real and apple just didn’t make a good quality phone this year or had issues with the glass this year?
FirstAd6165 t1_j6mrfi5 wrote
It could totally be thst apple made a mistake but since yours is the first post I see about it since the release of the phone (which I own Myself) I am inclined to think it is your fault and not the phone’s fault as I doubt the glass is any different from the 13 model. Very probably what happened is that you had a small rock or grain in between the wallet and phone, you maybe bended to grab something and the phone was pressed hard against the wallet, If there was something in between it could have made the glass crack because of the tension

Also, those prices you mentioned are cheap cause they are tied to a 2 years contract. Which I assume buying in eBay it’s not the case

Any chance it was already damaged when you bought it?

Might have been but wasn’t showing. The listing did say small scratches

Hmm maybe just maybe it is a real iPhone (because it is) and it was a reseller who buys phones for $50-$200 (even though the phone is worth $1k+) and then marked it up to make a profit? What do you think happens to the phones you sell to ecoatm or back market? They get resold at a profit.

I recently sold a 4 year old IPhone XR on one of those types of sites for around $280. Who is offering 50-200 for a 14 Pro?.

Think for just a second why would a trusted eBay seller ruin what took them years to build just to make a quick buck?
Maybe just maybe you need to stop going to swappa (who is known to over charge for their items and way underpay) and maybe go look at what used iPhones are actually going for

LMAO. Opened the store OP mentioned, and it looks like the iphones they're selling have bad IMEIs, so the phones are very likely stolen
chrisnan109 OP t1_j6mxvyh wrote
Like I said swappa is over priced. I’ve riven that the iPhone is real. (Can’t restore a fake iPhone with iCloud) so you keep believing that swappa is the only place selling real iPhones and anything less than swappa ‘s price is fake.
