So I just got an iPhone 14 pro. I’ve never dropped it and this morning I took it out of my pocket and the back was shattered. I don’t have keys in my pocket only my wallet. I’ve never seen a phone shatter from being breaded against a leather wallet before and I’m wondering is it happening to anyone else?

It must have been hit by something or perhaps something pushed against it (like a bulb in your wallet and you leaning on the wall, thus making pressure on that bulb via your body weight).

It’d take some pressure to shatter it, but then again, glass is very fragile and not willing to bend at all…

Ive never seen a phone shatter from anything in your pocket even other iPhones. It took my 12 pro over 50 drops onto concrete to break and 11 pro broke working the same time period but the 14 pro presses against a leather wallet and shatters? Something isn’t right there. Wallet was completely flat doesn’t have anything poking out and haven’t leaned on any walls.

Not saying you did, just throwing some ideas… my 12 PM shattered from falling out of my pocket onto the rug when I was crouching all the way down but sweatpants pocket wasn’t zipped up. So it fell from my pocket on the thick rug from less than 1ft of height.

While my old X back in the day flew out of my car when I opened the door and it was in my lap, so it fell from 2-2.5 ft on the concrete and rolled over, and then kept sliding for some 3ft. Apart from scratches - nothing.

🤷🏻‍♂️

Mmm sorry but don’t believe it. It’s imposible an iPhone breaks against a wallet. Either you had something else or you put so much pressure in the phone it cracked. There is something you are not telling here

Hmm let’s see here considering so many of the cell phone providers give it to you for $599 $699 $799 or gasp even free and also when a company buys it off you the only pay $50-$200 for it could it be that maybe just maybe it’s real and apple just didn’t make a good quality phone this year or had issues with the glass this year?

It could totally be thst apple made a mistake but since yours is the first post I see about it since the release of the phone (which I own Myself) I am inclined to think it is your fault and not the phone’s fault as I doubt the glass is any different from the 13 model. Very probably what happened is that you had a small rock or grain in between the wallet and phone, you maybe bended to grab something and the phone was pressed hard against the wallet, If there was something in between it could have made the glass crack because of the tension

Hmm maybe just maybe it is a real iPhone (because it is) and it was a reseller who buys phones for $50-$200 (even though the phone is worth $1k+) and then marked it up to make a profit? What do you think happens to the phones you sell to ecoatm or back market? They get resold at a profit.

Think for just a second why would a trusted eBay seller ruin what took them years to build just to make a quick buck?

Maybe just maybe you need to stop going to swappa (who is known to over charge for their items and way underpay) and maybe go look at what used iPhones are actually going for

Like I said swappa is over priced. I’ve riven that the iPhone is real. (Can’t restore a fake iPhone with iCloud) so you keep believing that swappa is the only place selling real iPhones and anything less than swappa ‘s price is fake.
