i had the same issue, thats because of apple pay, you can disable it. Settings > Wallet > Double click thingy > toggle it off. Now it should be fine. (its because the iPhone waits for you to double click to open wallet)

Neither for me, but you’ll notice it turns off a lot quicker when clicking power button when Double click for Apple pay is turned off.

Interesting. My 11 Pro gives me the Lock Screen immediately when I press the power button and then Wallet once it detects the second press.

Odd, I have the same model with apple pay but don’t have that problem. It turns on immediately (even before I fully let go of the button) but if I press the button a second time (for apple pay) it will just open the menu above the lock screen.

If you have any function set to double clicking the lock button it adds a delay to waking up because it’s waiting for the second press.

Do you have double click for apple pay or any accessibility settings?

Yes, double click for downloading apps and purchasing stuff was enabled by default. How do I disable that?

Under "wallet & apple pay" in settings there's a "double-click side button" toggle. If you shut that off the delay should go away.

Yeah I get it needs the delay to see if it's a one or double press but that delay feels like the phone is lagging. I almost never used double click to pay anyway and enjoy the snappier feel with it off.

About €470 brand new (128GB). Thank you for the tips, I might try doing that. I updated it to iOS 16.3 without thinking much about it. I think the OS version was 15.7 prior to the update.

Got a brand new iPhone 11 but, when I tap to wake the screen or click the power button, it takes a second for the display to properly light up afterwards. It’s like the screen is dark, then it takes some time for it to become lighter. Its kinda annoying. I have FaceID turned on.
