I turn my display brightness all the way up to play games. Auto brightness is on, and I thought it was supposed to readjust after I locked the screen or an amount of time. But I always have to go into the settings and toggle it off and on to get it to readjust.

Is there a fast or better way?

My 13 Pro does the same. Really annoying.

That’s not how auto brightness works.

Auto brightness uses light sensors to adjust the brightness up or down from where you set it based on how much light is in the environment you’re in. It does not adjust based on what app you’re using.

For example if you have it set at 50% in a dimly lit room and go outside in bright sunlight, it will turn the brightness up to compensate.

The faster way to do what you want is to just use the brightness slider in control centre (pull down from top right) before/after playing your game.

You can adjust from the control center. No need to go to the settings.

But I want it adjusted to what auto brightness would put it at. That’s why I mean, I want it to auto adjust back

I might be wrong but I think it learns your preferences when you readjust.

So when does it auto adjust it then? I’ve had this phone for almost three years, it has yet to auto adjust without me going into settings and toggling auto brightness

Uuuuh I know I had some trouble with it first but I decided to stick with it and just adjusted the brightness whenever it wasn’t as I preferred and a few days/weeks later it was pretty much tuned. Haven’t had to touch it much since.
