I'm moving to Jersey City soon, and am interested in 225 Grand. The reviews are generally positive, the apartments spacious, and the amenities good. I read some reviews saying the water and electricity is shut off frequently for maintenance, which could be an issue since I work from home frequently. Can anyone that lives there chime in on how often that's a problem? If there are any other watch outs, please let me know.

I've lived at 225 Grand for almost 1.5 years and it's been great! The front desk staff is lovely.

I've only experienced the electricity going out once after a switch blew and the water was shut off once or twice for a few hours. Honestly, nothing to worry about. For a period of time, the fire alarm went off quite a bit, but it's been fine for a while now.

I had a friend in there for 10 years. It was a good place to live.

Fantastic neighborhood. Ferry is like walking distance. PATH is maybe five minutes to Grove Street. Tons of bars and restaurants nearby. You can definitely do worse.

Check it out in person first. Fwiw, the interior of the building feels significantly older than it’s suppose to be. With wallpapers peeling off in the hallway, lounge space looking like some common area in a college dorm building. Definitely not the typical “luxury apartment” people here refer to. That said, the price and location is very hard to beat, so I guess in the end it’s all up to your personal preference.

Lived here for 12 years and no major complaints. Rate ups each year aren’t too bad - ranged from $50-150 during my time here - we just signed for another year. Maintenance issues are fixed same day or by the next. They usually warn you if they shut off the water to fix something in the building. It isn’t often. New this year - They are hosting events in building each month (Super Bowl watch party, free coffee in lobby one morning, wine tasting, etc).

KRE is not the same thing as Kushner Companies, which is associated with Jared.

They are two competing factions of the family that don’t even get along with each other.

Sigh... is it that you think that 225 Grand is at all related to Jared Kushner?
