Darke Pines (2nd btwn Newark and Coles) makes a great one. It's not the cheapest thing, but it's worth every penny. Also they only make sandwiches Wed-Sat until 3pm. Their roast beef sandwich is also killer.

You read my mind — I have been so craving a pastrami sandwich. The one at Dark Pines seems to be thin-sliced/Cole slaw deal… does anyone know if anywhere in town has a hot pastrami sandwich? Like the thicker cut pastrami with some mustard and a pickle on the side.

And, for any of my fellow Mets fans, since it’s almost time for baseball season: if you haven’t already, next time you’re at Citi Field, get the pastrami sandwich. Just trust me. It’s so good.

Sarge’s is such a sleeper, that place deserves so much more love but I feel like it gets less attention than Pastrami Queen or 2nd Ave

Hudson Hall.

Only had one there, so my opinion is severely skewed.
