Hello, I moved into a new apartment building about 8 months ago. The apartment has a garage that opens to a road that's full of craters and about 1/4 of a good road. You end up driving half on the good part and half in the craters because there is parking on both sides of the street. This part of the street is very short, probably 1/10th of a mile but you must go less than 5mph every time to avoid messing up your car. The road dead ends to a fence and an abandoned lot. The lot adjacent to the road is also an open lot. Landlord says it's the responsibility of the city. I talked to the city on City Connect app and they actually fixed about half the road by filling in the holes. I asked and they said they'll be back again if resources allow. I definitely appreciate what they did but it's still very deep holes on the remaining 200 ft of the road. I was looking online and it looks like NY has a rule where if you change the occupancy of a building you're required to repave or refurbish the road that's in front of it. I can't find the same ordnance in NJ. On Google Maps the apartment used to be a car wash so I assume they changed the occupancy. Does anyone know if there's a NJ City law out there like that?

I’m guessing you moved to the David Bowie Lofts District AKA The Horseshoe Taint (DBLDAHT) and expected luxury?

Where is this?
I don't understand why OP just didn't give the building and road in question.

I dunno about the OP, but the roads around some of the $$$ luxury condos they’re building around the tunnel are actually completely awful.

I live in this same building 😂I know exactly which it is and I wish they would just pave this shit too. It really shouldn’t be that complicated.
