For some context - I live downtown near wonder bagels. Yes, it’s a city and I expect it to be noisy, but I have lived here for over 10 years. It seems like in the last few years the amount of sirens speeding by on any given day has gone up exponentially. Traffic and horn noise in general . Is it just the Columbus corridor? Or is it everywhere in Jersey City

More people downtown, more traffic, and post covid more cars. Not surprising in the least.

Two reasons, the population has increased by250% , and main streets are preferred by large vehicles because of traffic and closed side streets daily

What makes you say this lol genuinely curious, I’ve had it countless times and always take people there and they always like it and have never once had a bad thing from there. (The one on jersey Ave, don’t know about other locations)

I’m no longer a resident but when I lived in Dixon Mills it was upsetting to hear all of the sirens on their way to the medical center during Covid

It's a Downtown problem...with the influx of "luxury" tenants and bars.

As someone who lives down the block from you and has lived here for 6 years, I couldn’t agree more. The opening of that stupid bridge in the park is largely to blame for the horns and whatnot, the sirens, I don’t know, but it all sucks.

Place is disgusting. Service is horrible. Bagels are just ok. They toast the bagels in a fucking George Forman grill, pressing them down to almost nothing. The line out the door is embarrassing. The only reason people think it’s good is because it’s the only bagel place downtown. Once the new spot opens and it’s hopefully decent, people will realize what a joke wonder bagel is.

I'm actually not being a sarcastic jerk OP- what did you expect? in the last 10 years JC has added thousands of bedrooms, mostly downtown. We lead the entire USA in some building/construction metrics. We've majorly increased density, barely updated our infrastructure, also COVID made everyone fuckin aggro.

I've noticed it too, shit is definitely playing at a different key compared to even 5 years ago

A few years ago, a lady on the PATH to 33rd street asked me the same question, phrased in almost the exact same way. Then she handed me a Jehovah's Witness pamphlet. So imagine my reaction when I saw this on my feed .

I’ll address that one by one lol 1- service is perfectly fine, you order, they make it, you pay and leave. You must just be really needy. 2-i don’t toast bagels so idk about that 3- the line out the door is due to only one thing….. a large amount of people actually liking the place and willing to wait. It’s a very small place so that’s just a bullshit point. All this is subjective, you either like the taste of the bagels or you don’t. Everything else you said is just a lie.
