A GoFundMe has been organized to support the family of Jersey City Police Officer Noel Santiago Jr., who passed away on March 24 after a battle with cancer. He was 43 years old and is survived by his wife and three sons; ages 4, 2, and 1.

Santiago’s wife organized the GoFundMe and shared, “To know Noel was to love him. He built friendships with almost everyone who he came in contact with because of his kind spirit, generous nature, and witty banter. He always made himself available to anyone who needed help or a listening ear; he was a protector to all. For these reasons and so many others, being a police officer was Noel’s calling. He had a way of connecting with people and driving them to do better and be better.”

The Jersey City Police West District also shared the fundraiser and stated, “Over the weekend we lost a brother and friend. The Go Fund Me was created by his wife, Stephanie. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Santiago family, especially to his wife and kids. Rest In Peace Noel!”

To view the GoFundMe page, visit the Go Fund Me page here. A total of $45,305 has been raised of out of their $100,000 goal from 284 donations.
