Every time I try to order one it takes forever to connect me with a driver and most of the time it will just cancel the ride…?

But I was going from JC to JC?
It used to but I can never get a driver on it anymore.
Not sure what’s been up but since the pandemic it’s been this way for the most part. Seems to be the same regardless if your destination is NY, further in NJ (eg Union), or even places like EWR.
Lyft has been useless for years. Fares are always lower than uber but no driver ever accepts their rides. I’ve given up on them
That must a recent issue. My daughter lives on Tonnelle Ave and she has never had a problem. She takes one every other day to Hoboken for work.
I Always use Lyft. 0 issues m although I don’t use it at rush hour. I get priority with Lyft plus.
I've used them, and aside from some occasional delays, they're fine.
Piling on but echo literally never being able to get Lyft anywhere in downtown JC
I drive Uber and Lyft for travel/bourbon money, im a heights homeowner. Lyft pays like shit. If you're going to use the inferior and cheaper service, don't wonder why it sucks.
Lyft just introduced upfront pricing, we can see the pay and destination. Uber is a different story. Trips tp Bushwick are literally money losers.
I hate to be a dick, but the PATH is safe. Take a train into the city, then grab a car/yellow cab.
I haven’t had luck with any rides with Lyft in JC since the pandemic regardless of destination. Uber I can use without issue, though. it drives me nuts.
I would get the Curbed app and just try to use regular cabs.
Have never gotten a Lyft driver to accept in the last year, even when traveling 1-2 miles within JC and Hoboken. Makes no sense
NJ drivers have a very hard time going to the city. They are not allowed to pick anyone up in NYC so they end up losing money taking you to NYC. If that’s where you are going, take the path and get a ride once across the river. It’s expected courtesy to text a driver in NJ after you order the ride and ask if “ NYC ok?” . If you are not going to NY- I don’t know. Shouldn’t have an issue
Drivers all use both Lyft and Uber. It’s impossible to get a ride on which ever app is charging the lower rate, it’s easier to just pay the higher rate.
I gave up on Lyft a couple of years ago (after bolting from Uber due to their well-publicized issues). Same issue--when I could actually connect to a driver, they would cancel more than half the time. Now back to the evil Uber empire.
Had no idea--just assumed there was parity between the two services. How big a difference is it? Lyft used to be known as more "driver-friendly," no?

Nj drivers can’t accept NYC rides so they usually cancel since the app seems to match NJ drivers with NYC bound passengers despite the rule. I usually message my driver first after matching and ask if they are ok driving to nyc. This saves a lot of time for everyone.
