Good. I went to Morristown for hospital. Most of my doctors were through summit medical in Berkeley Heights. I used a pediatric group in Bedminster (Somerset pediatrics).
Great bagels!! Go to O’Bagel. They have 3 locations there. The owners lived on my street.
We’ve good friends we visit in Bernardsville fairly often, and are currently looking in the area. Lovely town. Direct train to Hoboken, convenient for great walking and hiking, Shoprite and Gary’s both well stocked. Recommended. Taxes are a little high but they are everywhere it seems.
Not from that area of NJ but I have been there before.
Nice quiet area. You’re between Morristown and Somerville/Bridgewater, so there’s plenty to do.
Grew up in Bernardsville and lived there for ~15yrs. You can message me personally if you would like to talk further. But, very nice area. If you don’t care about proximity to NYC it’s a very nice place to raise kids, great school system, and very safe. Not a very diverse town(predominantly wealthy, white families).
Yes it’s beautiful but quiet and suburban ! I’m moving from the area to Jersey city how would you say next to bayside park is regarding safety ? Please be honest it’s my first home purchase
I grew up in that area, went to school in Bernardsville. It is a very nice area, yet very different from JC. It doesn't have a night life, but is not far from towns that offer that (Morristown, Somerville.) The town is basically asleep after 9pm. I miss the quietness of that area. I've considered moving back to that area, but think I would find it too boring and uneventful for now.

I lived in that area for 30 years (1 town over) and then moved to jc, so my experiences are mostly from my town. Here’s some stuff off the top of my head.
It was a great place to raise kids in a lot of ways. Good access to parks and nature. Easy for kids to play with kids in the neighborhood. Nice community for me as a young parent. Very convenient to shopping and services. Far to get to anything like concerts or city life (although Morristown has a new music venue). Expensive, but not compared to jc. Not much ethnic or socioeconomic diversity. High pressure schools. Not walkable for errands- highly car dependent. Mediocre restaurants. Very much suburban in feel and values.
I’m happy to talk more specifics over dm if you have questions.
