Hi guys, I need help !!!!!
I’ll be transferring to NJCU from another school. I am an international student. I need your advice on its business school. Is that school fine? I have been reading on a lot of frauds, hence the question.
Agreed. As someone who works in finance in NYC, I’ve worked with people who went to Baruch College. To my knowledge , I haven’t worked with anyone who went to NJCU.

It’s a legitimate school but the business program doesn’t carry much prestige. I took some classes there I needed for the CFP and it was totally fine
You might want to look into the financial troubles it is having. I'm not trying to be overdramatic, but at present, there is at least some question about its continued, long-term existence.
You have valid point. Thanks for pointing it out. Now I’m really scared. Should I transfer or not😭😭 this was cheaper in comparison to others and they had STEM designated program
As a person who has done a Non Stem program at a business school, try getting into Baruch, which falls under the CUNY system. If you are confident on your skill set that you will be able to progress without much help of the college then go for NJCU else keep looking.
It's not a fraud school. But it's not very good or renowned anywhere. The best part is it's not expensive so you won't be in a ton of debt.

Rutgers have a better business program and a lot of companies look to them first when it comes to recuiting in the area

They provide a lot of scholarship aide to students. You should ask to see what you may be qualified for. Don’t completely write it off your list just yet
i currently go to NJCU & am a business management major. njcu has a bit of a shitty reputation, but a lot of that is comments that people have been saying for years & i think have just stuck to the school. i’m currently a junior, & i haven’t had any issues. i will say you get what you put into it though. opportunities, unlike at other schools, aren’t always pushed to students unless you really look yourself and cultivate the relationship with staff yourself. i have had no problems with getting internships, and the business school is really good with providing students with opportunities.
i do agree with the comments about the lack of exposure njcu gets, i have found myself having to really supplement my education with job experiences since most employers won’t recognize the name but to say you won’t be successful because of that is a bit much.
the current financial situation is a bit of a headache right now, but they have been open on what’s going on and what the plan is. they hold public meetings what’s going on & honestly, as a student here I do not see the university closing but I tend to bite my tongue on things like that since i don’t own a crystal ball lol.

Check college board
It is a decent option but its name doesn't jump out to employers either. You may want to look at Rutgers or St Peters University as well but both are more expensive. What you really should be looking at is what internship opportunities do they offer you? Are graduates successful when they leave?
Although the school plays a part in your career, what matters more is the connections you make while you are in school which is why internships are important.

That is correct, they are. However, many believe that it will eventually be saved but that is why you should explore other options right now
I remember 10 or 20 years ago the njcu students activity fund was looted by a school employee, she was outed when a student complained that the student group spent 5k on pizza party for like 15 students.
I’ve never heard of it to be honest.

Move to JC and commute Baruch College in Manhattan. Good business school.
