Menendez adviser confirms new federal investigation, but says senator is unaware of scope

Federal prosecutors are once again investigating U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, according to a senior political adviser to the New Jersey Democrat, who has been the focus of two previous corruption probes — one that was later quietly dropped and a second that was dismissed after a high-profile criminal trial.

“Senator Menendez is aware of an investigation that was reported on today, however he does not know the scope of the investigation,” said the adviser, Michael Soliman, who served Menendez’s state director and his New Jersey chief of staff. “As always, should any official inquiries be made, the senator is available to provide any assistance that is requested of him or his office.”

honestly this is a plus for Junior...a senator that can realistically be replaced (and jailed) at any time, rather than every 6 years, is just gravy for new jersey. /s

This is not surprising to me. What would be surprising is if there is a politician in North Jersey that isn't corrupt.

I'm glad I live in the part of JC where Menendez Jr will *not* be my Rep.
