Don't give it to a place that charges you 10%

Don't pay to spend your own money.

At last check (years ago), you can redeem your coins at Coinstar and get an Amazon gift code without the fee. A good deal if you were going to spend that money anyway. (there are other retailers, too - but none were as broad as Amazon)

Roll it yourself and save 10%. BUT you can also transfer it to a gift card for 100% (I think). Shoprites.

I found years ago the best thing to do is to buy the plastic tubes on Amazon. You can get the sleeves from the bank for free and roll your own coins. It's very easy to do and quite quick. And then bring the rolls to the bank (or spend them).

Just a note that coinstars are unpredictable. They often go offline --maybe when they fill up? And then you hauled your heavy bucket of coins and have to take it back home. When I've used it, it was only after checking first and then going home to get my stash.

If you're willing to get payment in an amazon gift certificate, they waive the fee(at least the last time I did this 4 years ago) .

Get some of those paper coin rolls and bring it to the bank. Any coin counting machine is going to take a % if you want cash, or offer gift cards.
