I’m a runner and new to JC and looking forward to running at Liberty State Park. The place is so big, I’m not sure which address/parking lot is best for getting to the trail. Where do people usually go? Free parking is of course preferred. Thanks!

I don't know what trail you're referring to, but as far as I know all the parking is free except the northern lots on Audrey Zapp Drive. You're most likely to find space in the southernmost lots on Morris Pesin Drive.

Most all of the LSP parking spots are right next to one of the many trails.

There's free parking at the southern end of the park where the flag poles are.

Run to the park and then run out of the park is what most folks do.

There’s essentially one major loop there, with an extension down to Caven Point near the golf course, to the south.

Park anywhere really, and you can do any distance and be pretty close to your vehicles.

Pro tip: bathrooms and water in various points - at the building near the flags at the south of the park, at the nature center and the playground in the middle of the park, and at the train station at the north of the park.

Better in the morning overall. Have fun!

From Bowl-Rite Lanes in Union City, it's only four miles one way. But you aren't wrong, for some people it isn't ideal. OP left some info out lol I have run from Newport to Elizabeth, NJ and on some days Newport to Hoboken sucks.

Actually there’s a pretty cool Trail if you go all the way to the south end of the park where trucks park to get they’re boats in the water, you walk past the golf course and keep going for a bow a half a mile to a mile and then on your left is a trail that you can run through to a desolate beach which is beautiful during the summer months it’s close because it’s a protected area but it is open now I am probably one of the most gorgeous places of Jersey City in that little know about

Yeah, depends how far they run. 8 miles is longer than I go most days, but even if i were going out for 10+ i'd probably prefer driving/biking to the park rather than having 8 miles of the run getting to/from the park.

I'm lucky to live within a mile of the park though so it is really nice to be able to run to the park easily.
