Yea, there's an awful lot of mentioning of gay. Weird. And "I won't turn you away if you're gay" Wow, such an honorable white heterosexual man! 🤦

It also got lumped in with alcoholism or being a victim of trauma, as if it's a problem to overcome. It read as a little off to me, too. I do think it was well-intentioned, but as you can see from the reaction to your comment, good intentions can be misinterpreted.
