Hello everybody!

I need to move from Newark, NJ, to Manhattan, NY. I found an affordable apartment there, and it’s a pretty good deal. Besides, it’s closer to work, and I won’t need to stay in traffic jams all day long on my way to work and back home. Literally, I will save 3-4 hours daily by moving there.

But the only issue is that I need to move to a new apartment ASAP. Ideally, I should manage to do everything during the weekend. So, I have already started packing stuff I don’t use, like books, paintings, and home accessories. Still, I feel like I won’t be able to finish on time because I need to return my apartment in mint condition to get my deposit back.

I return home dead tired, and I can barely move. Still, I try to do a bit of packing. I also need to go to different stores and ask for clean empty boxes. Time was not on my side, and I started to panic slowly.

I could pack everything in my car and ask friends to help me. So, maybe in 5-6 rides from my old place to my new place, I will manage to move all my boxes and stuff. Luckily, I rented my old place completely furnished, so there’s no need to dismantle furniture. Still, I need to furnish my new place and buy a mattress. But all new furniture can wait a bit.

As I said, the time is not on my side. So, I googled some life hacks on how to do packing in no time and ran into movers Somerset NJ company. They also mention that they provide packing services. It seems like a pretty good deal. But I haven’t requested a quote from them yet. I have never dealt with moving companies ever. Every time I did everything myself, I knew how exhausting it might be. But, on the other hand, I’m worried that if the new company won’t careful with my belongings and break something? Do they provide a damage replacement?

Please let me know if you have any experience dealing with moving companies.

What kind of weird stream of consciousness navel gaze did I just read? This could’ve been one or two sentences.

Seriously! Dafuq did I just read? At one point I thought it was a lame attempt at clever marketing. Might still be leaning that way. Super weird post.

I’ve used Fidelity Transportation for multiple moves, including NYC to NJ . They never packed my stuff other than loose items, but they are extremely careful. Good rates and honest. Moving is expensive, and if you need to get out asap, then hire movers. They are worth every penny.

Try the Lugg or Dolly app. Great for small moves.
