That's awful...sending all the love to everyone at Cangiano's. Scott was the first person I encountered there and he made the biggest impression every single time. We visited less than a few weeks ago and the usual banter and quirk was in full force. He, as usual, gave us more cheese to sample and, as usual, we bought a wedge of it. I'm really sad that he won't be around to keep us on our toes next time we visit.

I was so sorry to see this. Scott was such a nice guy, always had a recommendation, a sample, a kind word.

Scott was a great guy. Always talked to me and we even drank together on a couple occasions at Ed & Mary’s. Funny guy. Cannot believe it. Rest in Power.

WTF! Is there a gofund for him? Scott is the first gentleman on the left on photo for those who are wondering. That’s the A team crew at Cangianos.

I don't know how to say what I want to say. He was so sweet and kind and funny and generous. I think I sampled everything in the shop because of him, and his humor kept me coming back. I was always happy to see him. He made me feel special...like I was his favorite customer; and I'm sure that's how it was for everyone who encountered him. Cangiano's will not (cannot) be the same without him. Rest well, gentle man.

I asked when I went in yesterday. They said he had a heart attack like 2 months ago and had a stent put in. Then last Thursday he was in the shop and not feeling well and left early then eventually went to the hospital.

Oof, this one stung but thank you for sharing.

I moved out of the neighborhood some months back but still make it a point to snag a Citibike and ride back there to get a sandwich every couple weeks, solely because of the experience Scott and the team give their customers at every turn. As others have mentioned, countless cheeses were sampled because of Scott but more so, he was the heart and soul behind Cangiano’s and made you feel like his favorite customer every time you walked in.

He will truly be missed.
